2013 World Wizard Championships
The Wizard World Championship in Europe 2013...A new selection approach for a new year.
The USA champion will be decided by a 6-month tournament that runs from January through June. There are currently 22 entrants but more can join at any
time.
The Canadian champions to attend the European finals will be the two players with the highest World Rankings. (Currently and unlikely to change:
Cargobeep and Mactonight.)
Both USA and Canadian selections provide the ‘champions’ ample time to make the necessary arrangements (both family and work) for the trip. It also
provides the planners for the “2013 WizFest Tournament” the flexibility to host the tournament in late July or even August if that works better for
them.
This will be the first time that Canada will be represented by 2 entrants and we hope one of them can “bring home the bacon”.

why not use the same rule for both USA and Canada ? just send the top 2 USA players, as per , the world rankings.

That would be far too logical, reasonable and economically viable.

I agree with ap. There is no argument that Cargo and Mac will certainly will most capably represent Canada, however I think it is grossly unfair to
the remainder of the talented and shrewd players in our 'community'. Similarly, the method of selecting our representative by way of the annual
Wizfest eliminates a host of deserving players. I think the 6-month online route is the most equitable and gives all players from coast to coast to
coast an equal chance.
I believe the last time we did that it was the best four months out of six.
It's not too late to go that route.

Ty for your support Doug... I agree that both ways are inadequate for USA and Canadian champ... I suggested 4 on-line tournies over a couple of month
with only the people that register allowed to play. That way it will keep some of the nonsense and unfair play, from influencing the outcome ,as it
will in the monthly results. Ive already put out this idea and got no response. Oh well...I guess since Ken pays for the trips himself its his
decision to make.
Thanks again for the comment...
