SCORING SYSTEM

TRIADTRIAD was eliminated on January 1, 2020.
In 2003 the TRIAD was added to the official tournament rules. The TRIAD is optional and all of the top 3 finishers in a tournament must agree to participate. The top 3 finishers (The TRIAD) will play 1 complete 3-handed game with additional master points of 3-2-1 based on placement in the 3-handed game.
The TRIAD will be played using the same bidding system used in the tournament unless all 3 players agree otherwise.
* In the event that one of the top 3 players is unable to play (or cannot be contacted) then the player who placed 4th may be used as a substitute.
* Fractional points will be maintained for Triads. i.e. If 2 players tie for first each player will receive half of 3+2 points. (2.5 points)

(First revised Jan.05, 2004)
The new system awards a player 1 point for every person below him and subtracts 1 point for every player above him.

Invitational Tournaments
The first invitational tournament was held in January 2007. The top 25-ranking players of the previous month's Top 10 are invited to participate.

Skill Ratio
The SR (skill ratio) is determined by dividing the POINTS by the Number of Games Played. eg. A player with 30 points in 20 games has an SR of 1.5

Monthly Ranking System
Rank in Points + Rank in SR = Final Rank
Low score is best.

The players ranking in POINTS is combined with the player’s ranking in SR to produce a matrix score. i.e. 5th in points and 3rd in SR equals a matrix score of 8. As in golf the lower the matrix score the better.
Effective January 1, 2020 the monthly ranking system will simply use POINTS to determine the Top 10.

GET ALL SCORES
When you click on GET ALL SCORES (on the Portal Page) all players are shown and ranked on Skill Ratio.
However only players who have played a specified number of games receive a ‘number ranking’. (Currently 30 games per month.)
