HAPPY NEW YEAR

WIZARD NEWSLETTER January 1, 2008.

In life it’s not the cards that you are dealt that matters;

It’s how well you play the cards that you are dealt.

Tournaments

There are more and more tournaments being played than ever before.

For new players and as a refresher for the old pros a summary of how to
join an online tournament follows:

How Do I Join the Online Tournament?

1.. Wait until the stated time for registration before you “register”.
2.. At the Wizard site there are 15 rectangular boxes at the top. Click
the box marked ‘Online T.’
3.. Fill in your ‘username’ and ‘password’ then click ‘register’.
4.. Shortly after you ‘register’ your username should appear in “NEWS”
(beneath the CHAT area)
5.. Once registration is closed the Tournament director will print out
the format of the games.
For example it could be 3 tables of 6 players (18) or 4 tables of 5
players.(20)
6.. Next watch the “NEWS” area for the names of the players at each
table to be posted.
7.. One of the players at each table will act as “Host” and will set up
a game.
8.. N.B. When Hosting a Tournament game the host must scroll down to
the “Tournament Log In” which is directly below the regular ‘log-in’.
Players joining must also scroll down to the “Tournament Log-In” area
below the regular ‘log-in’ area.
9.. After the game is completed a team member must report the results
in the Chat area.
Locations

>> For some reason players are reluctant to provide the name of the city in
>> which they live. This information would be very helpful in planning
>> future live tournaments. The 2008 annual tournament will be held in
>> Niagara Falls, Ontario on August 1 & 2 but the locale for 2009 is still
>> ‘up-in-the-air’. If you would take a minute to e-mail me your location it
>> would be much appreciated.
>>
>> Passwords
>>
>> If you want to change your password click on “control panel/options”
>> which is in small print just below the 15 boxes at the top of the Portal
>> Page. Then click on “Edit your profile” on the right side of the page.
>> Type in a new password, scroll down and click profile’.
>>
>> Explore the Site
>>
>> Take time to explore some of the information available on the website.
>> (Click on "Bulletin Boards")
>> Find out how the "Master Point System" works.
>> Find out how to join an online tournament.
>> Find out about Wizard "Records" and who holds them.
>> Improve your game by reading "Strategies".
>> Complete any of the "Polls" that you may have missed.
>> Read about the history of Wizard Cards….and much more!
>>
>> And as we look forward to the challenges and aspirations for 2008
>> remember the words of Dan Quayle, “The future will be better tomorrow”.
>>
>> Or perhaps you prefer Jimi Hendrix, “When the power of love overcomes
>> the love of power, the world will know peace.” All the best for 2008 and
>> beyond,
