When I was able to finally find the Wizard Card game in a store, it was 400 miles away from my home in Spokane, Washington and they didn't have the deluxe version available. So what we do to play hidden bid is everyone writes their bid on a piece of paper and keeps it on the table, upside-down, until the end of the bidding. We've used that for Delayed Reveal bid also. Makes it very interesting.

It's not so much a variation as mush as it is a characteristic of our gameplay. When we choose our bids, we place that amount in poker chips or coins in front of us on the table. Then, when we take a trick, we place it down and put one of our bidding chips upon it to show how many we've taken. This allows everyone at the table, at all times, to see what someone bid and how many they've taken thus far, as opposed to always having to look at the scorecard.
