"Khauna" Wizard Letter

Ken,
We play the game at lunchtime at work with as many as 7 players.
We have made up a special score sheet to handle all of us. Six games on an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet
We have modified the lunchtime rules as follows:
Deal cards as rules state, 1, 2, 3, 4, etc until 12:30 (30 minutes into the game)
After that, the dealer can determine how many cards are dealt for the remainder of the game. (30 minutes)
We have played with both the green and blue backed cards. In both cases, we have made one of the Wizards a "Khauna", meaning it can take any other Wizard.
The Wizard with the Yellow Star that is decidedly different from the others or the Trump Wizard is the "Khauna" Wizard. It makes for very interesting play, because until it is played, the other wizards have the danger of being "Khauna'd" and the game strategy is altered. Sometimes, it is not even dealt and other times it sneaks up into the low hands. In any event, it is our Syltone rule and most likely is not played like that elsewhere.
We cut the deck when two players are tied and even joke about wearing a fictitious "Wizard Crown" for a day when we win, Sometimes, we even get to keep it over the weekend. The scores can get up to 400 on a good day for an hour of play.

Playing cards at lunch gives us a break from work and allows us to hone our game. The cards have lasted about 3 months before they are "marked" and we have to get more decks. The last couple of times, we have had to order them online as there are not many places that carry the game. Target used to carry them but that is going back 4-5 years.

History:
The game was introduced to us from some people who were moved up from Emco Wheaton in Raleigh, North Carolina to the Syltone Industries, LLC plant in Louisville, Kentucky during a company relocation move in 1999. They too played at lunchtime and had some vicious games ending in cards being thrown to the floor when the dreaded Wizard shows up.
We have had a daily lunchtime game for the last 5 years with as many as 7 players. Currently, three people play and we are trying to recruit others. I downloaded the tournament rules for them from the web site.
I would be interested in learning about other players from our region who may be interested in a tournament.
Thanks,

We do a similar thing when we play. The lowest score is the Jester and is forced to wear a silly looking polka dot bib during the next game...

I like the silly hat idea. ...The silly hat could be worn by the person with the lowest score. This may mean a constant hat-changing ceremony but that could be fun too.
